Had a trip out to Huntly to visit Deans shortbread factory, you can see onto the factory floor, we then went up to Elgin for a wander around the shops.
Did a search for craft shops found four within a short walking distance,

This shop was full of quilt fabric the owner's dog was not very keen on my hubby,

This shop was full of also of stitchy things, needed to get a DMC thread to replace a thread I am using that I do not like the lady was most helpfull.

We visited the meusum which had free entry, as hubby into metal detecting we were interested in the Birnie Hoard which was a hoard of silver coins.

This interested me some beads which were found in a cost burial, a necklace was made to represent what it could look like.

We went up to Inverness to do some shopping then decided to go out for a meal, we have been to the Snow Goose quite a few times not sure if they have changed chain but the menu had changed, I had the Sunday roast which was fine, hubby had hunters chicken but they had sprinkled cheese on his chips so he was some what put out, I informed him that a lot of people eat their chips this way unfortunately we will not now be going back.

We arrived safe and sound to be greeted by the ducks we always bring them some food.

This morning the weather is dull and rain is forecast we have deceived to go to Boat of Garten and see the Osprays at the RPB reserve and have lunch at the loch side.

I tried to capture the chicks from the screen to show you all, there is 3 chicks this year, there is also bird feeders so you can see loads of LBJ's still not seen a crested tit yet, there was a great spotted woodpecker and it's young. No red squriel yet so far.

Unfortunately while knitting my cow yesterday the instructions where wrong so she had to be put away  I now have some new instructions which the designer has e-mailed me, but no printer so my hubby has copied the part I need to notes so I can carry on knitting, this is what I ended up stitching it is a scissor fob of Sue Hawkins I love her stuff.

Afternoon tea

Always end up in road works going around Glasgow not looking forward to them coming back. Stopped off for afternoon tea,

This a good place to browse as it is well out of my league price wise,

As you can see Hubby in a hurry to eat. Just over another hour to drive and we will have arrived.

Coffee stop

We have now stopped for coffe at arundale services, we usually stop here, behind the building is a lovely lake which we have walked the dogs around on previous trips.

I usually like to keep busy on long journeys so out came last years birthday present from my Mum,

Started to read the instructions, inastarsia, three colour changes in a row and a colour chart to follow for the pattern, so I am now getting in a tangle!

Breakfast stop

We set off at 7.30, we have just stopped for breakfast at Penrith at Macdonalds.

Took a picture of the castle across the road

Then there he is waiting at the car.
