GROW YOUR BLOG 2014

Hello my name is Jayne, while wandering through blog land which I generally do by visiting other peoples blog lists, I came across 2 Bags Full who was hosting an international blog party(see button in side bar) and HERE (for blog lists) I decided to join in.

I am not a great fan of having my photo taken but managed to find a good one or two, I am the first on bottom row this was on a walk before Christmas with some of my work colleagues yes we were all drinking wine, it was one of the girls birthdays and someone had 2 bottles of wine in their rucksack we all went for lunch afterwards it was a 7 mile walk I realised afterwards how unfit I was!

I have been a Midwife for over 20 years and have worked for the NHS 30 years, I work as a Delivery Suite Co-ordinator which is a clinical managers post so I am fortunate to delivery a lot of babies.
I have had a blog for 5 years I started it because I started doing exchanges and you had to have a blog to be a member of some sites, over the years I have received some lovely things through the post which I love, my Christmas Tree this year was covered in stitched ornaments most of which I have received in exchanges and I also some times like to participate in stitch-a-longs(sals). So you could say I like to do anything which involves a needle or a hook.

This is one of my  many scissor thread keeps I recycle old cards into thread tags and you can never have enough pairs of scissors.

I have knitted for years I cannot remember what age I was taught to knit by my Grandmother but stopped in the 80's when it went out of vogue and took up the many needle crafts which I do, I have also now started to crochet I have attend a few workshops, the above is a brooch I got free on a magazine but I embellished it with beads.

We are lucky and are able to spend a lot of time at the coast as my mother in law has a static caravan near Filey and I attend bead workshops in summer at Robin Hoods Bay which I have done for about the last 13 years.

I also have the required sewing machine or two and enjoy making up projects I also dabble in quilting, I enjoy the piecing but I am not very good at the actual machine quilting that's another workshop I am attending soon.

My Mum and I have been lucky over the last 8 years to have been on a lot of stitching associated holidays with The Cross Stitch Guild run by Jane Greenoff we have been to Norway doing hardanger, Denmark to visit Permin and danish flower threads, Holland for Samplers, Belgium for lace, France to see the Bayeux Tapestry and Germany for threads and linen. We have visited some lovely places and done other things while there, like a lot of wine tasting you must thing I am into the wine I do not drink usually.

A visit to the Maderia Factory Germany.

Wine tasting in Germany.

I am fortunate to have visited Zweigart about 4 times and have bags full of lovely linens. I hope you have enjoyed your visit to my blog and drop by again soon.

Jayne

Jayne, I am sending greetings from South Carolina, USA! I am having loads of fun checking out the blogs at Vicki's GYB party. I found your blog to be lovely. Your projects are so pretty. I checked out a couple of your other blogs, as well.

How wonderful that you are a midwife--a noble occupation, for certain.

I have been really busy for the past couple of weeks and so progress on the blog hop has been a little slow.

Your pictures are lovely. I am signing up to follow you and I hope you might pay me a visit at my blog to see what makes me tick!

Be blessed!
