Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to all mothers out there, I went out to lunch with my Mother and Sister and her Family for lunch at an Italian Restaurant, then back to my Sisters house for dessert, we played some games with my Nephew and play several rounds of Telly Addicts, my team won 2 out of 3 games.

Wendy asked on my last post if this pattern was a Mackintosh Rose, she was correct I got the pattern as a kit from Spangles at a bead show, they also do mail order.

I have had the beads out again, this was done in size 15's, it is taken from a pattern from Laura McCabe called Jack-in-the-pulpit, she says it is a woodland flower for spring I do not actually know what colour these flowers are I just chose blue, the pattern was in Beadwork april/may 2010. I used it as a single pendant on some PVC tubing for a necklace.

I have been doing Frosty Forest from County Cottages Needleworks it is a 9 part series, I found a shop in the UK which was doing an autoship for each part including threads and fabric, instead of having to get it from the states, I am on part 2 of the 3 I have received, I am a member of a SAL to try and keep me motivated to stitch this.

I decided to treat myself this week, I still had some Birthday money left, I found a shop in the UK which had stocked these limited complete kits from Lizzie Kate,  I do love her stuff, this is another thing I shall be taking away with me.

I forgot to show.

I forgot to show what I had stitched for the Lizzie Kate Exchange on HOE my partner received this early last week she was also called Jayne. I finished it as a needle case which was a new finish for me, I was pleased with the finished result I had also made some counting pins and an unpicker for her to match the colours in the fabric. I enjoy doing exchanges on HOE as you get to try different finishes which you might not have done before so you are learning new things all the time.
