Hello my name is Jayne, I love wandering through blog land which I generally do through visiting other peoples blog lists, Last year I came across 2 Bags Full who was hosting an international blog party(see button in side bar) and HERE (for blog lists) I decided to join in.
I have been a Midwife for over 20 years and have worked for the NHS 30 years, I work as a Delivery Suite Co-ordinator which is a clinical managers post so I am fortunate to delivery a lot of babies.
I have had a blog for 6 years I started it because I started doing exchanges and you had to have a blog to be a member of some sites, over the years I have received some lovely things through the post which I love, my Christmas Tree this year was covered in stitched ornaments most of which I have received in exchanges,
I like to participate in stitch-a-longs(sals). So you could say I like to do anything which involves a needle or a hook.
I have knitted for years I cannot remember what age I was taught to knit by my Grandmother but stopped in the 80's when it went out of vogue and took up the many needle crafts which I do, I have also now started to crochet I have attend a few workshops, I crochet a blanket for my Jack Russell Penny.
I attend bead workshops in summer at Robin Hoods Bay which I have done for about the last 13 years, I have a rather large stash of beads. I was fortunate last year to attend 2 classes taught by American Bead Artist Melanie Potter and this year we are having Marcia Decosta coming to teach.
I also have the required sewing machine or two and enjoy making up projects I also dabble in quilting, I enjoy the piecing but I am not very good at the actual machine quilting and usually end up making small things which are easier to finish,
I have attended quite a few classes now with Stuart Hillard of Sewing Bee fame he live in our area and teaches at the Viking Loom in York,
the last class I did we made a bag.
I am also going to give away one of my thread catchers so please do leave a comment and a name will be picked out on the 15th Feb. Please leave your Blog and e-mail address if you want to be in the giveaway.

You're a lady of many talents Jayne, I've dabbled in quite of few of these crafts too and I'm envious that you're going to do a class with Marcia DeCoster. Well done on being a midwife, it's a tough but rewarding job.
Being a midwife sounds very rewarding and exciting. I enjoyed your blog, will follow and return.
As I have been a follower for a while now and always enjoy your postings. Wonderful to be able to attend classes and continue learning new things. What a great life you have had and are having now. Blogging is so great, being able to have friends all over the world. This is my second year to join Grow Your Blog. Please include me in the give a way.

Hi Jayne, I`m visiting via the GYB hop, What lovely varied work you do. Wish we had different craft classes here - there are very few, and mainly just quilting or knitting.
What gorgeous work! I found you via GYB party and am now a follower. I hope you pop over to my blog and take a peek: WisdomwithNeedleandThread.blogspot.com
I look forward to following your stitching adventures.
Warm regards
Hello from Pennsylvania. Love the pictures. We have had 5 inches of snow this week and more this weekend.
Oh what a fun blog. Except for knitting you seem to like all the things that I do. I used to do a LOT of beading type things.... now I just seem to collect beads... sigh.... but I do lots of all sorts of stitchery. Happy to have found your blog.
On behalf of Vicki at 2 Bags Full, and myself, welcome to the Grow Your Blog hop! We apologize for the late welcome, as your assigned greeter didn't show for the party. You have a wonderful blog, love the projects and Penny is just too adorable. I'll be back later to look around more!
What beautiful work! I am looking forward to getting to know you better! Your newest follower...Terri

A wide and varied selection of talent you have, especially when I suspect being a midwife takes up so much of your time.
Looking forward to following your blog! Penny looks adorable and your thread catchers look great.

I love the stuff you make. Your little dog looks so cute and cozy under the blanket.
Hi Jayne! It's nice to meet another blogger who is interested in many stitchy mediums like myself (quilt, cross-stitch, embroidery, scrapbooking and BASIC crochet). Can't wait to explore your blog a bit more!
Wow Jayne! You have so many talents! I have done several of them in my past life but dropped them for one reason or another. Good for you for keeping up with them.! I love the little thread catchers.. how cute! But I think I'd have to keep my bobbins in it. I wind up to 8 bobbins of the same color thread each project I quilt so I dont have to constantly be stopping work to wind a bobbin!

Hi Jayne lovely to meet you!
Your work is lovely - I can crochet but I can't knit!!
Nice to meet you. I'm visiting via GYB from St. John's, NL Canada. Your work is lovely. Thanks for sharing.
I can't wait to see what you get up to. Penny is so cute in her new blanket.
You're lucky to live in an area where you have access to classes. Being able to learn new things is wonderful. I'm self-taught in everything I do so I'm sure I have a lot of bad habits..lol. Thank you so much for inviting us over to have a visit with you.
Hi Jayne it is nice to meet you. You are involved in creating in so many ways - from delivering babies to all of your needlework and sewing. Enjoy the blog party! Susan
Your thread catchers are really nice. I've thought about being a midwife - I might do that if I need a career change later on in life.
Love all your projects. Very nice! I'm now following.
