Tour De France

Well it has finally arrived this weekend is the start of the Tour de France, we went for a wander around Knaresborough with our camera's

Everywhere you look people have painted bikes and they are displayed everywhere.

Shop window's have been decorated.

Even the house at the bottom of Knaresborough High Street has been decorated, I bet this is the most photographed house in Knaresborough!!!

We saw plenty of cyclists out and about, the knitted jersey's are everywhere.

This is what Knaresborough High Street will look like on Sunday morning once the roads are closed from 3am, if people are not staying overnight or live in the area's the Tour are going through, you have no chance of travelling there on the day, because of the road closures, I have not decided if it is a good thing or a curse that we live in a place the Tour is visiting 2 days running.

Tuesday

Had a trip out to Huntly to visit Deans shortbread factory, you can see onto the factory floor, we then went up to Elgin for a wander around the shops.
Did a search for craft shops found four within a short walking distance,

This shop was full of quilt fabric the owner's dog was not very keen on my hubby,

This shop was full of also of stitchy things, needed to get a DMC thread to replace a thread I am using that I do not like the lady was most helpfull.

We visited the meusum which had free entry, as hubby into metal detecting we were interested in the Birnie Hoard which was a hoard of silver coins.

This interested me some beads which were found in a cost burial, a necklace was made to represent what it could look like.
