Thursday
I was expecting rain all day there were storms and flooding in England and we had a dry day we went to Inverness shopping then we went to Ffords a camera shop in Beauly which my Hubby likes to visit, he bought a view finder for his panasonic GF1 as he hates looking at the screen on the back.
Wednesday
Today was wet so we had a lazy day, we went to the Potting shed at Inshriach Nursery which is fantastic tearoom who make the most wonderful home baked cakes, the tearoom has a viewing gallery overlooking a feeding station which has red squirrels visiting and a multitude of birds visiting. After lunch we went to Loch Inch to have a look at the Osprey nest then we went to the RSPB Loch Garten to see the osprey there.

As I mentioned in the last post we are on holiday in Scotland we are staying in Carrbridge just outside Avimore. Since we have Internet access I have decided to try and write about my holiday everyday and I will add the pictures once we get home.We got up to rain this morning but we went out as we approached Inverness the rain stopped which was fortunate as we were going on to the Moray Firth to watch the Dolphins lucky for us they put a show on so we watched them for about 1.5 hrs As we were leaving we saw some now houses which were been built so we decided to look around the show home, it was absolutely fantastic,it had much to my amusement 4 bathrooms I know 2 of them were on suites but they were as big as my bathroom at home and the loo downstairs was was really a bathroom, then we went to tesco's shopping then went out for a meal,we intend to go swimming shortly and decide what to do tomorrow.

NEC Festival of Quilts
Last week it was the Festival of Quilts at the NEC in Birmingham it was on for 4 days we went on the Friday and unfortunately ended up in a traffic jam when we were only 15mins away from the NEC we sat in slow moving traffic for 90minutes so we did not arrive till 11.30 when we set off at 7am and should have been there by 10 am.

This particular quilt which looks like log cabin is actually knitted with a fabric backing which as quilted together a clever idea.

I have actually seen the Bayeux Tapestry in France the detail on this was amazing.

I thought this was brilliant!!

This one reminded me of my holiday in France this year we have been a Battle field tour and I had climbed a couple of tall towers this just reminded me of all the steps.

The detail on this was brilliant as you can see see quilted the body using words about how you become over weight.

There were plenty of stall selling loads of fabric so of course I bought some to swell my stash, we are away at the caravan for the next week so I have taken my cutting board and fabric with me so that I can start on some cutting out!!

These 2 necklaces are from a wire work class by Julie Ashby from Spellbound Bead Co we also had a class with her last year our Tutor Jenny invites guest Teachers.

This Necklace is one of Jenny's designs which had a Elizabethan influence when she designed it we actually managed to do this in a day usually we don't finish what we have started and may take weeks to finish items I have alot of UFO's.
