Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to all mothers out there, I went out to lunch with my Mother and Sister and her Family for lunch at an Italian Restaurant, then back to my Sisters house for dessert, we played some games with my Nephew and play several rounds of Telly Addicts, my team won 2 out of 3 games.

Wendy asked on my last post if this pattern was a Mackintosh Rose, she was correct I got the pattern as a kit from Spangles at a bead show, they also do mail order.

I have had the beads out again, this was done in size 15's, it is taken from a pattern from Laura McCabe called Jack-in-the-pulpit, she says it is a woodland flower for spring I do not actually know what colour these flowers are I just chose blue, the pattern was in Beadwork april/may 2010. I used it as a single pendant on some PVC tubing for a necklace.

I have been doing Frosty Forest from County Cottages Needleworks it is a 9 part series, I found a shop in the UK which was doing an autoship for each part including threads and fabric, instead of having to get it from the states, I am on part 2 of the 3 I have received, I am a member of a SAL to try and keep me motivated to stitch this.

I decided to treat myself this week, I still had some Birthday money left, I found a shop in the UK which had stocked these limited complete kits from Lizzie Kate,  I do love her stuff, this is another thing I shall be taking away with me.

A busy month

The year seems to be going so fast I have been taking photo all month but not found the time to blog, I have an iPad so I am on it each day but unfortunately it does not have a camera on it, so I find it a chore to have to come up to the desktop.

I managed to finish my Jumpers for the Tour De France bunting they had to be handed in on the 10th March I managed to knit 9 even though I promised 12 so I do not think I did too bad once they have been put up I will go and get a photo.

In February I entered two give aways and would you believe it I did actually win them they were associated with the Blog Party which I took part in, the above bookmark is some beautiful Hardanger stitched by Patricia,

I then get this coin purse from Judith who made it in my favourite colour which is obviously purple.

This week I have been on a quilting workshop doing free motion  quilting with the wonderful Stuart Hillerman from the Sewing Bee(series 1) he is an excellent teacher and I learn a lot that day, below is some of the things he was having us do obviously by the end of the day, this was his work not mine my curves were not very good I just will need loads of practise now.

The beads came out last week, I have made this for my Mums birthday a needle case, this pattern had a lot of colour changes on each line, got a bit frustrated at times as I had to do quite a bit of frogging!

I think she will be pleased with the end result it is her birthday tomorrow.

Received this in the Post today from Ariane in France it is From the HOE Halloween exchange it is beautifully finished with beads but I do not know who the design is by.

This is what I stitched for the exchange it when off too the USA last week and should arrive soon it is from Glory Bee out of Just Cross-stitch Halloween edition.
